Volume V presents an updated account of the earliest, documented Tritt ancestor, Jacob Tritten (1562 – 1634) in Switzerland. Jacob and his wife, Anna Trachsel/Drachsel (abt. 1569) had four sons and three daughters. Our earlier volumes regard descendants of their oldest son, Christen (1588); Volume V regards descendants from their second son, Hans (abt. 1589).
This volume presents genealogy of eleven generations from Hans Tritten (1589) to 2004. It also offers family and Swiss history, describes Tritt migrations in Europe and to America, describes organizations fostering Swiss culture in America, and gives etymology of the Tritt surname.
